Use the recipe scaler
No signup. Calculations run in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter the recipe’s original servings and the number you want to make.
- Add each ingredient’s quantity, unit and name. Leave quantity empty for ingredients added to taste.
- Select Scale ingredients, then copy your adjusted list.
A worked example
A recipe uses 1½ cups of rice for four servings. Changing the target to eight multiplies by two and gives 3 cups. A row marked ‘to taste’ keeps its wording.
Common questions
Can I enter fractions?
Yes. Use 1/2, 1 1/2, 1.5 or common fraction symbols such as ½. Use a single quantity per row; quantity ranges are not supported.
Will the cooking time change too?
This tool scales ingredients only. Check your recipe for pan size, cooking time and method when changing the batch size.
Does it adjust seasoning automatically?
Numbers are multiplied by the same serving ratio. Ingredients without a quantity stay unchanged. Taste and adjust seasoning as the recipe allows; baking and preserving need particular care.
